Tour Plan
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel or the airport. As you journey towards Lake Mburo National Park, enjoy the scenic route that takes you through Uganda’s countryside, passing small towns along the Kampala-Mbarara road. Along the way, stop for some fun at the Equator Crossing, where you can snap photos and take part in some science experiments to prove you're standing at the center of the Earth.
You’ll also stop at Mpambire Royal Drum Makers, where you’ll witness the intricate process of creating local drums from tree wood and animal hides. After this cultural stop, you’ll continue your drive to the park, arriving in time for lunch, a quick relaxation, and then a brief afternoon game drive to spot some wildlife.

Wake up early for a hearty breakfast before embarking on your morning game drive. Lake Mburo is famous for its diverse wildlife, including buffalo, zebras, impalas, and a variety of bird species. Though lions were once extinct here, they’ve been reintroduced, along with giraffes, making this park one of the few places where you can see both animals.
After your game drive, head back to your lodge for lunch and a short rest, before setting off for a two-hour boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This scenic cruise will bring you face-to-face with hippos, crocodiles, water birds like the African fish eagle, and other animals that come to the lake to drink. The boat ride offers an excellent opportunity for wildlife photography and unforgettable moments in nature.
After your cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Start your final day with an early breakfast, and meet a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger for a guided safari walk. Lake Mburo is one of the few parks in Uganda where you can experience a walking safari, allowing you to explore the park from a more intimate perspective. The safari walk is a fantastic way to see wildlife up close and appreciate the natural beauty of the area.
After your walk, check out of your lodge and begin your journey back to Kampala or Mbarara, with a lunch stop along the way.
