About the National Parks

Murchison Falls National Park Located in northwestern Uganda, Murchison Falls National Park is part of the Murchison Falls Conservation Area, which includes Karuma and Bugungu Wildlife Reserves. A highlight of the park is the famous Murchison Falls, where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging into powerful cascades. The park features woodlands, riverine forests, and savanna, home to chimpanzees, giraffes, lions, elephants, hartebeests, leopards, Uganda Kobs, Oribis, and other antelope species.

Queen Elizabeth National Park Located in western Uganda, approximately 400 km from Kampala, Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts diverse landscapes, including craters, crater lakes, and salt lakes. The park includes Kyambura Gorge and the Maramagambo Forest and is home to chimpanzees, lions, leopards, crocodiles, hippos, Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, elephants, and various antelope species. It is famous for its tree-climbing lions in Ishasha.

Tour Plan

Your safari guide will pick you up in the morning from Kampala or Entebbe. The drive takes you through Kampala city and into the Ugandan countryside, passing through Luwero and Nakasongola districts. You will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track white rhinos and learn about conservation efforts. After lunch, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, making a stop at the top of the falls to witness the powerful Nile River plunging through a narrow gorge. Dinner and overnight at:

Start your day with an early morning game drive along the Nile banks, spotting lions, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes, and leopards. Return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on an afternoon boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls. Expect to see large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and several bird species, including the elusive shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge.

Enjoy breakfast before embarking on a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is a full-day journey with stops for photography and sightseeing. Marvel at the rolling landscapes, rural communities, and natural beauty of western Uganda. Dinner and overnight at:

Embark on a morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains, where you will see elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, and various antelope species. After lunch, take an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, famous for its high concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles. The channel is also a great spot for birdwatching. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge.

After breakfast, head to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. This underground forest is home to a community of chimpanzees, as well as baboons, vervet monkeys, and colobus monkeys. Explore the lush gorge and witness the primates in their natural habitat. Then transfer to Isasha sector. Dinner and overnight at booked  lodge.

Enjoy breakfast before driving through Ishasha Sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Spot these unique predators resting in fig trees before continuing your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. You will stop at the Equator in Kayabwe on Masaka Road for photos and lunch before concluding your safari.
